20 weeks!

How far along: 20 weeks! halfway there

Size of baby: A banana!

Total weight gain/loss: I've actually lost a couple pounds according to my home scale so we'll go with 12-14 pounds so far.

Maternity clothes: Oh yes, and this won't be changing anytime soon. Even well until after the baby is here. :)

Gender: Sweet baby boy! Name to be revealed real real soon!

Movement: Sill feeling the "quickening" movement the books describe but no big kicks yet. I'm hoping by Christmas I can feel it and so can our families! UPDATE! I felt our baby kicking this morning (December 5th) while charting on the computer at work! He is kicking like crazy and they are strong! Such an awesome feeling. I am in total awe today!

Sleep: I have been sleeping like a rock lately. I don't know whats going on but one day last week I slept until 11am!! I paid for it the next night and didn't hardly sleep a wink. But on my days at home I'm sleeping until like 10am now, vs 8am, so I'm thankful for that

What I miss: Nothing really. Except wine. I'd like some of that. And the other day I was craving a bloody mary like whoa, and I don't even like blood mary's typically. so odd.

Cravings: still orange juice. lots and lots of it. and brownies. and cinnamon rolls.

Best moment this past week: starting our big hardwood floor installation. our house is nuts right now. you can hardly walk in the kitchen, all the den and dining room furniture is in the garage, and the floor is down to cement. Dad started laying down some wood this weekend so it's nice to see the progress being made. I can't WAIT to have them finished and have our house back to normal. We have nowhere to sit, the cable doesn't work so we have no TV, we can't cook a thing (oh darn) and our animals are going nuts. Thank goodness Dad lives a few miles away cause we've been spending our nights hanging over there!

Symptoms: Not much of anything really, except my growing belly. Congestion comes and goes but it's tolerable.

What I'm looking forward to: I ordered a few swatches of bedding because I STILL can't make a decision on what to do about the nursery so I'm hoping once those come in and I can see the colors in real life I'll be able to make some purchases. I'm hoping to really start it after Christmas and after this huge downstairs floor project is complete.

Milestones: Baby boy has working taste buds and drinks several ounces of amniotic fluid a day. AND depending on what I eat depends on what the fluid tastes like. I think that is so cool!

Mood: so happy! and excited for Christmas and lots of family time! I miss my mama!

Labor Signs: still cooking. it's crazy that in 16 weeks we will have a full term baby...I'm sure I'll go the full 40 weeks tho, so 20 more to go.

Wedding rings on or off: on

So our house is crazy right now and my chalkboard is buried in the garage somewhere so all you get is iphone pics.
17 and 20 week comparsion!

Baby Green's Nursery

Ok so this nursery. I thought I was set on the bedding and now I'm having major second thoughts. I need some help!! I would appreciate any feedback or comments anyone has for me! I'm going for a gray and white nursery with touches of blue (I think, haha)

So far these are the only two things I've purchased. The crib (PBK) and the dresser (Cymax) that we will use as the changing table also.
And one other piece of furniture..some type of book case/cubby thing.

Love the pendant light and shelf....both from restoration hardware baby & child.

So now the bedding. I was set on this bedding and wanted to do a nautical type theme. With a big pirate boat wheel, anchor on a shelf, boat house mirror etc.
But now I think I love this Serena and Lily bedding. I'm still unsure of the combo of bumper/sheet/skirt as they do more of a la carte option. I like the simplicity and brightness of it tho for sure. A bit more modern than the RH bedding I'd say.

Big geometric gray and white rug...still deciding on which exactly but this gives you an idea..

Mirrored side table next to the glider with a small lamp.

I definitely know I want a Little Castle glider, just a question of style and fabric. I think I like the style of the solid gray chair the best.

If I go with the nautical bedding and theme I'd use these pieces...

If I do a more modern nursery without a "theme/character" I like these details...

A major work in progress and a lot to figure out but organizing my thoughts on here definitely helps. Anybody have any opinions? I am the worlds WORST decision maker. :(

19 weeks

How far along: 19 weeks

Size of baby: A mango!

Total weight gain/loss: 14 lbs. Went to the doctor yesterday so that's the official mark. Now, if I only gain 14 lbs the second half of this pregnancy we'll be in business. :)

Maternity clothes: Yep, pretty much all maternity because everything is sooo soft and comfy. I don't know how I'll ever give these up.

Gender:  Baby Green is a sweet little BOY!

Movement: Nothing new to report. Soon, soon, soon! I hope!

Sleep: Sleeping a little better actually. Still not sleeping very long but when I am sleeping I'm fairly comfortable.

Cravings: Nothing new this week. Still loving pickles and green beans.

Best moment this past week: Being in Alabama for Thanksgiving. They threw me a little surprise baby shower since they won't be able to come to any of the ones this spring and it was so fun! Baby Green got lots of goodies and Alabama gear.

Symptoms: Feeling great. Don't hardly feel pregnant most of the time, except for this growing belly. My energy is back to normal and I feel like my old self.

What I'm looking forward to: Christmas!! and buying the nursery furniture. I think I found the dresser I've been looking for and I can't wait to put it all in the room and start decorating! The fun part!!!

Milestones: Baby's kidneys are starting to make urine and hair is sprouting on the top of his head! awww.

Mood: Happy, happy, happy!

Labor Signs: still baking away

Wedding rings on or off: on

No chalk board pic this week...but I have these!

Most exciting purchase last week...got baby green's diaper bag!! I have wanted a Kate Spade diaper bag long before I was pregnant so I am super excited about this purchase.

Baby shower goodness...

Baby G's new Bama gear!

Feast! We have 30ish people at our Thanksgiving dinner! So fun!

18 weeks!

How far along: 18 weeks

Size of baby: A sweet potato! Baby weights over half a pound now!

Total weight gain/loss: I haven't been back to the Dr so I don't know exactly but I'm guessing around 10-12 lbs.

Maternity clothes: Still wearing both maternity and non maternity, but mostly maternity. I got some maternity leggings this weekend and OMG. What a difference they make! I had been wearing regular ones and just dealing, but oh boy not any longer. I will be wearing them almost every day, in a variety of colors, don't judge.

Gender:  Baby Green is a sweet little BOY!

Movement: Not much yet. Feeling something that feels like bubbles or pops. It happens like 5 times in a row so I know it's something. But nothing like feeling a kick. Maybe soon!

Sleep: Sleep hasn't changed much. I am sleeping with lots of pillows and I get pretty comfortable. I just wake up in the middle of the night wide awake and can't go back to sleep. After I've worked a 12 hour shift though I sleep soooo good.

Cravings: Nothing new this week. I do love pickles and mustard, but the pickles part isn't anything unusual for me. I wish I had a weird craving...like pickles dipped in chocolate, or something fun to talk about.

Best moment this past week: Shopping for baby boy! And talking about names! So excited about that!!!

Symptoms: I really feel great. Not really tired anymore and have lots of energy. Nasal congestion is still here but I think it's better now that I'm using the humidifier. I really can't complain!

What I'm looking forward to: Starting the nursery! I can't wait to get the furniture and paint and decorate and oh my! And I'm super excited about going to Alabama on Wednesday and seeing all my family! AND super excited to eat lots and lots of turkey and not feel guilty about making a second plate! haha :)

Milestones: Baby is growing rapidly and yawning, sucking, swallowing, hiccuping and kicking!

Mood: Happy, happy, happy!

Labor Signs: no no no, 22 weeks to go! Wow, we are almost half way!!

Wedding rings on or off: on

In front of Duke chapel...where we got married!

Shopped a little this weekend! (thanks to Ant B for the bib and socks!!)

It's a....

So we went for our "anatomy scan" today and everything checked out great! It was such an amazing feeling seeing that little baby on the screen! All the organs checked out ok and the heart rate was 155, we even saw all 4 chambers of it's heart. She told us baby weighed 7 ounces already and measured right on time for my due date. We counted all 10 fingers and toes, too! But we did turn our heads when she looked down to see the sex of the baby. We wanted to find out alone in our house and I am so glad we did. Such an awesome moment!!!

And here it is in pictures...I was a little excited, can you tell?

I told you about my emotions these days...haha the waterworks were in full force!

We could  not be more excited! Austin claims "he knew" the whole time. :)

So, you know how I told you we had a plan to announce this to everyone? Well, the plan was to go get a bunch of balloons and take a picture with them. We didn't really love how they turned out though, so we actually used some pictures from above. Here are a few cute ones with the balloons though. It was a fun afternoon!

Yay Baby boy Green!! Now you need a name!

17 weeks!

How far along: 17 weeks

Size of baby: An onion! About 5 inches long!

Total weight gain/loss: I haven't been back to the Dr so I don't know exactly but I'm guessing around 10 lbs.

Maternity clothes: Still wearing both maternity and non maternity. Got some new jeans and a few more tops from Gap. I am loving them. Everything maternity is soooo soft and comfy, whats up with that?

Gender: We find out tomorrow!! I am so freaking excited! We have our appt at 10:20 and then Austin and I are going to take the envelope home and read it. We just want to be alone together in our house when we find out. What fun! Let the shopping begin!!! haha

Movement:I think maybe a little. I don't feel anything that feels like a kick but I feel something in there. It feels like bubbles or something...it is so hard to explain! I can't wait for a real kick and for Austin to be able to feel them too!!

Sleep: Sleep is still mehhh. Not so great. I got the humidifier going so I'm hoping that helps with my congestion. I still toss and turn all night and get up to pee once or twice. I need one of those body boppy pillows for sure.

What I miss: Nothing much at all. I have been eating firehouse subs (because they steam their meat) and that has really helped my sub/deli meat craving. Is there something about being told you can't have something that makes you want it more? Because I swear my love for subs has always been large but never thisssss bad. Man I could eat a sub for every meal.

Cravings: Nothing really specific, but some foods just taste real good. Like yesterday we were at Southern Season and they had these ginger snaps to try, I tried one, and then had to buy a whole tin. I don't normally even like ginger snaps but oh man were these good. I also reallllly like mustard.
Best moment this past week: Shopping a little at Buy Buy Baby and figuring some details out. I think we are set on the stroller we're going to get and I'm pertty sure of the furniture we need to buy. I'm going to be watching several stores for Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales before we purchase. I also started a little registry on amazon to try and keep myself organized.

Symptoms: Nothing much. Just the sleep and nasal congestion. I am really hungry all the time but trying not to eat everything I see.

What I'm looking forward to: Tomorrow! And telling all our family and friends!!

Milestones: Baby is developing sweat glands!  Also baby is starting to yawn! Awww

Mood: Happy, happy, happy!

Labor Signs: no no no
Wedding rings on or off: on
Haven't done a chalk board pic yet but I have these I snapped with my phone.

My dad also finished the new door! He kocked out the wall and put a door between our bedroom and the nursery so we can get in quick. It's amazing how much of a difference it makes, suuuuper convenient!

16 weeks!

How far along: 16 weeks 3 days

Size of baby: An avocado! About 4.5 inches long!

Total weight gain/loss: 6 lbs so far

Maternity clothes: Still wearing both maternity and non maternity. Mostly non maternity tops. I'm not a huge fan of my maternity jeans...they just don't stay up very well. But maternity scrubs...I LOVE those. Have I mentioned that?

Gender: We find out next week! and Aus and I thought of a cute way to tell/show our family and friends! It might take us a day or two to get it together so it might be Wednesday or Thursday of next week before the world knows. Patience, please. :)

Movement:I don't think so. But I am paying attention to every feeling. I feel things in my stomach sometimes but I think it's mostly gas or cramps. I am so excited to feel this sweet baby!

Sleep: Not great honestly. Until about 3am I sleep like a rock, then its all down hill from there. Tossing and turning and watching the clock. I guess I really will never sleep again...oh man that thought scares me! I like my sleep!

What I miss: Nothing much, still Jersey Mikes subs and a glass (or five) of wine would be fabulous.

Cravings: Nothing new really. Love my cereal in the morning, with LOTS of OJ!

Best moment this past week: Really looking and feeling pregnant. So excited for this new baby bump and people noticing that I'm pregnant, and asking when I'm due!

Symptoms: All my symptoms are so much better now! I feel really good overall. Only big complaint I have now is the nasal congestion. I just ordered a humitifer for me and baby so I'm excited for that to get here.

What I'm looking forward to: Next Tuesday, of course!! And having a mini shopping spree for baby Green! Once I know the sex I have to go just a little bit crazy, right? :) Also, we are pretty set with what we are going to name him/her so I can't wait to finalize that and tell everyone! And order baby Greens first monogrammed diaper cover!! haha

Milestones: Baby can hear my voice! And he/she has eyebrows and eyelashes! Aww!

Mood: Happy, happy, happy! And excited! Can't hardly think about anything else besides this little life insdie me.
Labor Signs: no no, still 24 more weeks to bake!

Wedding rings on or off: on

A pic from Monday of this week...

And my chalkboard pic! :)
