22 Weeks

How far along: 22 weeks!

Size of baby: A papaya. Baby weighs about 1 pound now!

Total weight gain/loss: I don't really know, I'll find out when I go to the Dr a few days after Christmas. I'm guessing 15-16 pounds so far.

Maternity clothes: Yep. This answer isn't changing really so I'm not sure of the point of keeping it on this here little survey.

Gender: Sweet baby boy! James Austin Green! James after my dad and Austin after my husband...the two best men in my life. Perfect! :)

Movement: He is kicking up a storm. It's so fun to feel him and I can tell when he is awake and sleeping. Apparently he sleeps about 12-14 hours a day.

Sleep: Sleeping really good. I have crazy energy during the day and sleep like a gem at night. So glad for this!!

What I miss: Nothing much really. Kind of miss going out with friends and having a few drinks, especially around the holidays!

Cravings: pickles and fudge rounds. haha random

Best moment this past week: Almost finished our hardwood floors. I will post a few pics below. And making some nursery progress. We ordered the glider! OH. And we  booked our BabyMoon!!!

Symptoms: not much of anything new. I'm not even having nasal congestion anymore, woohoo! My only symptom really is this growing belly and my growing boobs! Whoa!

What I'm looking forward to: Christmas!!!! Can't wait to see both of our families!!!

Milestones: apparently baby really looks like a baby now and is called a "mini newborn" and he is sleeping in cycles.

Mood: happy! what else is new? I have been a little more emotional too. Not really sad but I definitely cry easier than before. This CT shooting has really been rough.

Labor Signs: negative

Wedding rings on or off: on

OK so...we booked our baby moon! We are super excited!!! We're going to Savannah, GA for 4 nights and leave in about a month! We are going mid January and hoping the weather isn't too brutally cold. We are staying at a cute little bed and breakfast called The Dresser Palmer house. We plan to relax in our cozy room, shop, eat (a lot!!) and do a few of the touristy things. Aus is also going to take a few maternity pictures of me while we are there because there are some awesome photo spots. Should be super fun!!

Also, we registered last week and I just need to take a minute and tell y'all how awesome the staff at Buy Buy Baby was. I'm not going to lie, I was kind of dreading the madness of walking around that store but they made it fun and they were sooo helpful. I have been to Babies R Us a handful of times (mostly before I was expecting to buy gifts for people) and had an AWFUL taste in my mouth. Nobody was helpful, the staff was rude and acted like I was crazy because I asked for help finding a certain bottle out of 97234 bottles on the shelf. I really felt like the girls at Buy Buy Baby cared about me and wanted to help me. They kept us laughing like crazy! And they seriously took 30 minutes talking about my bedding and nursery colors while we decided on the glider chair fabric. I feel like those girls were my friends and I could talk to them like a friend which made it so much better. I HIGHLY recommend Buy Buy Baby over Babies R Us, mostly for their awesome customer service but the products and gear are a little better too. Just my two cents and advice for anyone debating about where to register!

The chalkboard is back in action!

Another pic from over the weekend

Floors are looking good! So happy with how they turned out.

playing around with ideas!

21 weeks!

How far along: 21 weeks! a little over 5 months

Size of baby: A pomegranate...somehow baby went from 6.5 inches to 10.5 inches in a  week. hmmmm.

Total weight gain/loss: About 15 pounds.

Maternity clothes: Yep. Still wear non-maternity tops but all my pants are definitely maternity!

Gender: Sweet baby boy! We have decided on a name! Gotta make sure all the family knows before I post it on here though.

Movement: Lots of movement!! And it is so fun! I feel him a lot in the mornings and then randomly throughout the day. It's such a relieving feeling to feel him kicking around. Can't wait for Austin to feel from the outside!

Sleep: Sleeping pretty good. Really can't complain.

What I miss: Nada

Cravings: cinnamon rolls. made some of those bad boys tonight. and cucumbers and pickles.

Best moment this past week: I just bought our nursery bedding! I went with the Graham collection from Serena and Lily

Symptoms: still some nasal congestion, back pain (holy cow, have had two awful days of intense back pain. oww.) and my "mild asthma" has really kicked in. having to use my albuterol inhaler more and more these days.

What I'm looking forward to:  seeing the nursery come together. Now that I'm set on the bedding I feel like I can build the rest on that. The bumper and bottom of the skirt is a slate seersucker so I think I'll stay with the gray family, and touches of light blue and a golden yellow.

Milestones: baby is very large now! and he has eyebrows and is forming poop! haha

Mood: happy and excited! I just find myself dreaming about meeting him all the time and I can't hardly stand it! Can't wait to nuzzle that sweet body!

Labor Signs: negative

Wedding rings on or off: on

21 weeks and growing!

So since we're doing the hardwood floors and its taking way longer than we thought I had to come to terms with the fact that I wasn't' going to break out all the Christmas decorations and we probably weren't going to have a tree either. I have been really sad about it...like definitely shed a few tears, more than once. Well, the other night I came home and Austin had this mini tree down from the attic. It was so sweet! haha. Our big empty den with this little guy sitting in the middle.  I'm just focusing on next year...we will have our tree and I'll go all out with the decorations. AND there will be three of us to enjoy it next year!! gahhhh.

20 weeks!

How far along: 20 weeks! halfway there

Size of baby: A banana!

Total weight gain/loss: I've actually lost a couple pounds according to my home scale so we'll go with 12-14 pounds so far.

Maternity clothes: Oh yes, and this won't be changing anytime soon. Even well until after the baby is here. :)

Gender: Sweet baby boy! Name to be revealed real real soon!

Movement: Sill feeling the "quickening" movement the books describe but no big kicks yet. I'm hoping by Christmas I can feel it and so can our families! UPDATE! I felt our baby kicking this morning (December 5th) while charting on the computer at work! He is kicking like crazy and they are strong! Such an awesome feeling. I am in total awe today!

Sleep: I have been sleeping like a rock lately. I don't know whats going on but one day last week I slept until 11am!! I paid for it the next night and didn't hardly sleep a wink. But on my days at home I'm sleeping until like 10am now, vs 8am, so I'm thankful for that

What I miss: Nothing really. Except wine. I'd like some of that. And the other day I was craving a bloody mary like whoa, and I don't even like blood mary's typically. so odd.

Cravings: still orange juice. lots and lots of it. and brownies. and cinnamon rolls.

Best moment this past week: starting our big hardwood floor installation. our house is nuts right now. you can hardly walk in the kitchen, all the den and dining room furniture is in the garage, and the floor is down to cement. Dad started laying down some wood this weekend so it's nice to see the progress being made. I can't WAIT to have them finished and have our house back to normal. We have nowhere to sit, the cable doesn't work so we have no TV, we can't cook a thing (oh darn) and our animals are going nuts. Thank goodness Dad lives a few miles away cause we've been spending our nights hanging over there!

Symptoms: Not much of anything really, except my growing belly. Congestion comes and goes but it's tolerable.

What I'm looking forward to: I ordered a few swatches of bedding because I STILL can't make a decision on what to do about the nursery so I'm hoping once those come in and I can see the colors in real life I'll be able to make some purchases. I'm hoping to really start it after Christmas and after this huge downstairs floor project is complete.

Milestones: Baby boy has working taste buds and drinks several ounces of amniotic fluid a day. AND depending on what I eat depends on what the fluid tastes like. I think that is so cool!

Mood: so happy! and excited for Christmas and lots of family time! I miss my mama!

Labor Signs: still cooking. it's crazy that in 16 weeks we will have a full term baby...I'm sure I'll go the full 40 weeks tho, so 20 more to go.

Wedding rings on or off: on

So our house is crazy right now and my chalkboard is buried in the garage somewhere so all you get is iphone pics.
17 and 20 week comparsion!

Baby Green's Nursery

Ok so this nursery. I thought I was set on the bedding and now I'm having major second thoughts. I need some help!! I would appreciate any feedback or comments anyone has for me! I'm going for a gray and white nursery with touches of blue (I think, haha)

So far these are the only two things I've purchased. The crib (PBK) and the dresser (Cymax) that we will use as the changing table also.
And one other piece of furniture..some type of book case/cubby thing.

Love the pendant light and shelf....both from restoration hardware baby & child.

So now the bedding. I was set on this bedding and wanted to do a nautical type theme. With a big pirate boat wheel, anchor on a shelf, boat house mirror etc.
But now I think I love this Serena and Lily bedding. I'm still unsure of the combo of bumper/sheet/skirt as they do more of a la carte option. I like the simplicity and brightness of it tho for sure. A bit more modern than the RH bedding I'd say.

Big geometric gray and white rug...still deciding on which exactly but this gives you an idea..

Mirrored side table next to the glider with a small lamp.

I definitely know I want a Little Castle glider, just a question of style and fabric. I think I like the style of the solid gray chair the best.

If I go with the nautical bedding and theme I'd use these pieces...

If I do a more modern nursery without a "theme/character" I like these details...

A major work in progress and a lot to figure out but organizing my thoughts on here definitely helps. Anybody have any opinions? I am the worlds WORST decision maker. :(

19 weeks

How far along: 19 weeks

Size of baby: A mango!

Total weight gain/loss: 14 lbs. Went to the doctor yesterday so that's the official mark. Now, if I only gain 14 lbs the second half of this pregnancy we'll be in business. :)

Maternity clothes: Yep, pretty much all maternity because everything is sooo soft and comfy. I don't know how I'll ever give these up.

Gender:  Baby Green is a sweet little BOY!

Movement: Nothing new to report. Soon, soon, soon! I hope!

Sleep: Sleeping a little better actually. Still not sleeping very long but when I am sleeping I'm fairly comfortable.

Cravings: Nothing new this week. Still loving pickles and green beans.

Best moment this past week: Being in Alabama for Thanksgiving. They threw me a little surprise baby shower since they won't be able to come to any of the ones this spring and it was so fun! Baby Green got lots of goodies and Alabama gear.

Symptoms: Feeling great. Don't hardly feel pregnant most of the time, except for this growing belly. My energy is back to normal and I feel like my old self.

What I'm looking forward to: Christmas!! and buying the nursery furniture. I think I found the dresser I've been looking for and I can't wait to put it all in the room and start decorating! The fun part!!!

Milestones: Baby's kidneys are starting to make urine and hair is sprouting on the top of his head! awww.

Mood: Happy, happy, happy!

Labor Signs: still baking away

Wedding rings on or off: on

No chalk board pic this week...but I have these!

Most exciting purchase last week...got baby green's diaper bag!! I have wanted a Kate Spade diaper bag long before I was pregnant so I am super excited about this purchase.

Baby shower goodness...

Baby G's new Bama gear!

Feast! We have 30ish people at our Thanksgiving dinner! So fun!

18 weeks!

How far along: 18 weeks

Size of baby: A sweet potato! Baby weights over half a pound now!

Total weight gain/loss: I haven't been back to the Dr so I don't know exactly but I'm guessing around 10-12 lbs.

Maternity clothes: Still wearing both maternity and non maternity, but mostly maternity. I got some maternity leggings this weekend and OMG. What a difference they make! I had been wearing regular ones and just dealing, but oh boy not any longer. I will be wearing them almost every day, in a variety of colors, don't judge.

Gender:  Baby Green is a sweet little BOY!

Movement: Not much yet. Feeling something that feels like bubbles or pops. It happens like 5 times in a row so I know it's something. But nothing like feeling a kick. Maybe soon!

Sleep: Sleep hasn't changed much. I am sleeping with lots of pillows and I get pretty comfortable. I just wake up in the middle of the night wide awake and can't go back to sleep. After I've worked a 12 hour shift though I sleep soooo good.

Cravings: Nothing new this week. I do love pickles and mustard, but the pickles part isn't anything unusual for me. I wish I had a weird craving...like pickles dipped in chocolate, or something fun to talk about.

Best moment this past week: Shopping for baby boy! And talking about names! So excited about that!!!

Symptoms: I really feel great. Not really tired anymore and have lots of energy. Nasal congestion is still here but I think it's better now that I'm using the humidifier. I really can't complain!

What I'm looking forward to: Starting the nursery! I can't wait to get the furniture and paint and decorate and oh my! And I'm super excited about going to Alabama on Wednesday and seeing all my family! AND super excited to eat lots and lots of turkey and not feel guilty about making a second plate! haha :)

Milestones: Baby is growing rapidly and yawning, sucking, swallowing, hiccuping and kicking!

Mood: Happy, happy, happy!

Labor Signs: no no no, 22 weeks to go! Wow, we are almost half way!!

Wedding rings on or off: on

In front of Duke chapel...where we got married!

Shopped a little this weekend! (thanks to Ant B for the bib and socks!!)

Hiiii cutie!
